What do you feel about today's athletes and their salaries?

Just wanted to know your opinions. I felt it disturbing that Lebron James wants to be the first billion dollar athlete. Isn't there a time when we say enough is enough?!

Its absolutely ridiculous to me. Here we are completely idolizing these athletes, paying them WAY too much money and pushing more important professions aside like teachers! If every professional athlete would just take a million dollars less so that teachers could get paid more, the US education system would be in much better shape....and the kids would get better educated! To me its pathetic, and when some professional athlete complains that they need more millions of dollars than they already make, it makes me think of just how twisted these peoples morals are......

Salary Caps are one of the greatest ideas in professional sports. Although may mean the breaking up of some of my favorite teams but at least it keeps the salaries under somewhat control. It's sad to think that most athletes make more money then our president (although in now times i think that may be a good idea, lol) People like Lebron James make me sick. How can you sit there and ask for what was it $120 million contract!?! To PLAY a game. Any normal hardworking person now can retire after one season in just about any professional athlete's shoes. It's just sickening to see all that money in the hands of those greedy people, the ones that are greedy of course.
Way out of control. Why should you pay a guy millions just to throw a ball?

yea that is a lot of money. but tiger woods is gonna be the first billion dollar athlete. i just got the new sports illustrated with an article on him. he's made over half a billion already and just renewed his nike contract for 110 million.
